Services
Is it better to repair or replace an old furnace or AC unit?
It depends on the age of the system, how often it has needed repairs, and what the current repair would cost. A furnace or air conditioner that is well past the middle of its service life and keeps breaking down is usually a candidate for replacement. We can look at the equipment and talk through both options with you.
Why is my AC running but not cooling the house?
Common causes are a clogged air filter, a frozen evaporator coil, a dirty outdoor unit, or low refrigerant from a leak. Check the filter first and replace it if it is dirty. If the coil is iced over or the air from the vents stays warm, turn the system off and call us, since running it can damage the compressor.
How often should my furnace and air conditioner be serviced?
Once a year for each is the usual guideline: the furnace in the fall before heating season and the air conditioner in the spring before it is needed. We offer yearly maintenance contracts for air conditioners and furnaces, and your equipment warranty may also require regular maintenance, so check its terms.
Is a heat pump a good fit for a home in Southwest Ohio?
Modern heat pumps can heat and cool a home through Ohio winters and summers, and many homes pair them with backup heat for the coldest days. Whether one fits your house depends on its size, insulation and existing ductwork. We repair, maintain and install heat pumps and can go over it with you.
What can help with dust, allergies or humidity in my home?
Start with a clean filter that fits your system and sealed, clean ductwork. From there, we install air cleaners and humidifiers and do air duct cleaning. A humidifier helps with dry winter air, while summer humidity is usually a matter of a properly working air conditioner.
